About Me

I grew up in Lewiston-Auburn, Maine, earned my BA in Studio Art from the University of Vermont in 2008, and worked many different jobs after graduating. In 2016 I finally took the leap to self-employment, and combined fine art with graphic design for a profession that fits me well and is always teaching me something new.

The 200 Faces Story

The original name for my portrait business came from a project I did to pay off my student loans. From 2009-2015 I painted 200 portraits of people and pets in my community, which helped me to crush those loans, build a portfolio and a brand, and connect with people along the way. While the original goal is long finished, the work gained momentum beyond what I imagined and remains one of the most meaningful parts of my creative career.

Art Life + Van Life

Outside of portraiture, I paint the living world. This work is looser and more intuitive, driven by a need to be outside, explore, and pay attention. I love mixing media and layering color and texture until something unexpected happens. An important part of my art-making process is living and traveling in my van, which allows me to follow warmer weather and participate in art shows in other states. Being mobile introduces me to new scenery, helps me feel more connected to my surroundings, and expands my comfort zone, directly fueling my artwork.
