I create vibrant and realistic paintings of animals. Each custom portrait represents a memory, a personality, and a relationship. Custom Portraits: Houses & Venues

A house is so much more than just a building, and a house portrait is a beautiful way to commemorate the special place where you grew up, raised your family, or spent vacations. A wedding venue portrait will capture the setting that you chose to start your life together, and help you remember your venue as it was on your magical day.

The Process:

I will hand-paint your pet portrait with with love and care, based on a reference photo. I have pre-set sizes and prices available to make things easy, and I offer free shipping in the US. Please review the ordering steps below, and feel free to ask questions!

STEP 1: Pay Deposit

The $50 deposit is non-refundable, secures your spot on the waitlist, and is applied to final price. (Not needed for custom pet ornaments.)

STEP 2: Send a Clear, Well-Lit Photo

Send photos to jeanelledemers@gmail.com. Select a few high-quality, well-lit photos that capture your pet’s personality. I will crop and suggest one for the optimal composition. The better the photo, the better the painting!

STEP 3: Choose Background Color/Style

Your portrait includes either a solid color or abstract color blend for the background. I will do my best to accommodate color requests. Realistic/detailed backgrounds will have an upcharge based on complexity.

STEP 4: Final Payment

Complete final payment when portrait is finished. When paying through the website, use discount code DEPOSIT at checkout to apply your $50 deposit.

STEP 5: Shipping/Pickup

I provide free US shipping with tracking via USPS, or you can arrange to pick up in person at my studio in Portland, ME.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long will my portrait take?

I usually estimate 2-4 weeks, although this depends on the time of year, and my current waitlist. Please check in with me if you need your portrait for a specific date. I will do my best to accommodate.

What materials do you use?

I paint on stretched canvas, wood panels, and glass ornaments with acrylic paint and glazing mediums.

Will my painting look just like the photo?

Hopefully it will look better! I always strive to capture the image realistically, with slight variations since it is an original, hand-painted piece.

Can I choose the background color?

Absolutely! Please let me know your preference before I begin.

Can you combine different photos into one painting?

Usually - yes, as long as they are shot at similar angles with similar lighting. Please note there will be an extra charge for additional pets in the same painting.

Can I frame my portrait?

I paint the edges of the canvas so no framing is necessary, but you can certainly frame it if you prefer.

How do I get my portrait once it's finished?

I offer free shipping in the United States via USPS, or you can pick it up in person at my studio in Portland, ME.
